Ireland's Aerospace and Aviation Industry

As global investment in aerospace and aviation continues to grow, Irish companies are offering highly innovative and tailored solutions to world leaders.

Ireland is emerging as a global hub to service the needs of the rapidly growing aerospace and aviation industries: over 250 Irish companies are actively involved in aerospace/aviation and over 40% of the world’s fleet of leased aircraft are owned and managed from Ireland.

Supported by world-class STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and strong ties between academic research and industry, Ireland has developed key strengths in areas such as logistical solutions, high-tech machine components, surface treatments and materials. All of these serve to deliver superior operational performance, and ultimately,  increased profitability for their customers.

The Irish aerospace industry is one of the most technologically advanced – exceptional innovations in RFID solutions, inventory optimisation software, customer communications automation and other customer-centric applications, position Irish companies as leaders in the sector. AS9100 certification means that these companies are trusted by the most demanding of customers.

With over 60 Irish companies holding contracts with the European Space Agency, Ireland is also emerging as a hub for space technologies. A new space industry strategy has recently been unveiled, which will ensure Irish technology companies’ continued capability and competitiveness in the global space market.
